From Garlic, My Soul
Seasonal eating! Eating fruits and veggies that are in season can help you save money and get the freshest produce. When food is in abundance and in high supply, it costs farmers less to get it to you, saving you money. The more in season an item is, the fresher it usually is, and the most flavorful, because it was picked when it was ripest and naturally growing.
If you get these seasonal veggies locally, such as at a Farmer's Market, CSA or Co-op, you support local business and small scale, sustainable farming.
What fruits and veggies are in season can just be nice to be aware of, and help you get the produce you want - full of flavor, nutritious, and fresh.
